Haus der Geschichte | Technology
With “DA25 – You Are Part of History”, the permanent exhibition at the House of the History of the Federal Republic of Germany in Bonn was fundamentally reimagined and extensively advanced on a technical level. As one of Germany’s most important museums of contemporary history, the House of History creates a place where political events, social upheavals and personal stories can be experienced directly.
235 Media was responsible for the technical implementation and system integration of the exhibition. Across approximately 4,000 m², more than 165 media stations, large-scale audiovisual installations and interactive exhibits were created, seamlessly integrating into the exhibition’s spatial dramaturgy.
The aim was not merely to use media technology functionally, but to make it tangible as an integral part of the exhibition staging. Projections, displays, audiovisual installations and interactive applications come together to create a multilayered exhibition experience between information, atmosphere and media space.
Special media situations were individually developed and technically implemented for the exhibition. In the “Mauerfallpanorama”, for example, a five-channel projection was created on a concavely curved interior surface — complemented by precisely coordinated sound and lighting design that intensifies the atmosphere of the space and turns it into an immersive experience.
In addition to the complete media integration, 235 Media was responsible for specialist media planning, interface coordination and the development of central control and server systems. Behind the scenes, a custom-developed technical infrastructure connects all media installations and interactive applications into a robust, future-proof overall solution for one of the central permanent exhibitions on contemporary German history.
