Palazzo Strozzi | Bill Viola
The Palazzo Strozzi in Florence, built during the Early Renaissance, is hosting a new exhibition by American media artist Bill Viola. The exhibition, titled “Electronic Renaissance,” presents a cross-section of his work from the 1970s to the present. The juxtaposition of the predominantly large-scale video installations with selected masterpieces of Italian Renaissance painting reveals the significant role of 15th- and 16th-century art as a fundamental source of inspiration for Viola’s works, which are considered icons of media art.
235 MEDIA handled the technical planning, implementation, and management of the exhibition, supplied the video and audio equipment for 17 installations, and carried out the technical setup.
