To mark the opening of the “Kein Lärm Meer” exhibition at the OZEANEUM in Stralsund, we developed a new interactive multitouch table.

Plastic waste in the ocean, excessive maritime traffic, and the destruction of coastlines due to growing tourism are just three factors threatening the Baltic Sea ecosystem. To raise awareness of these dangers among museum visitors, we developed an 84-inch (213 cm) 4K multitouch table. It features four interactive stations, each of which allows visitors to explore three problems and possible solutions. The selected topics are pinpointed on a full-screen map of the Baltic Sea.

The OZEANEUM opened in the summer of 2008 and is part of the German Maritime Museum Foundation. In five fascinating permanent exhibitions, visitors can not only learn extensively about the exploration and use of the world’s oceans, but also marvel at life-size whale models and watch real penguins during training sessions.
