The Langen Foundation at the Museum Insel Hombroich is presenting the exhibition How to See [What Isn’t There], featuring selected works from the Burger Collection, Hong Kong. The exhibition includes 46 works, ranging from sculpture and installation to painting, photography, video, VR, and performance.

The Burger Collection, Hong Kong, is a private collection of contemporary art that represents a broad spectrum of works ranging from Euro-American and Indian to Asian art, reflecting a global approach to collecting.

The work by Canadian artist Jon Rafman is a world premiere and was created specifically for the exhibition: Deluge (Raketenstation Hombroich) is a dark vision that explores the invisible dangers of war. Using 3D glasses, Rafman draws on the military past of the Hombroich Missile Station to present feverish images—blurring the lines between delusion and reality—as virtual reality. Rafman’s images are computer-generated and bridge the gap between the material and digital worlds, reality and technological appearance.

235 MEDIA installed Jon Rafman’s work and supplied the hardware.
