Naturkunde Museum Karlsruhe
The State Museum of Natural History in Karlsruhe is one of Germany’s major natural science research museums. The combination of museum exhibits and live animals in large aquariums and terrariums makes a visit to the museum a special experience. Exotic animals such as crocodiles and sharks can be found here, as well as Germany’s largest living coral reef.
The new permanent exhibition “Form and Function—Nature as a Model,” which opened on July 27, 2016, in the renovated west wing, focuses on the themes of evolution and bionics. Across an exhibition area of 800 m², visitors can explore, among other things, the strategies that animals and plants have developed to adapt to a wide variety of environmental influences throughout the course of evolutionary history. A variety of multimedia stations show visitors what humans can learn from nature in terms of technological developments.
235 MEDIA handled the media production and IT technology for 21 installations.
